St. Matthew’s has been regarded as a centre for Musical excellence for generations. Founded in 1957, the Men and
Boys Choir follows the centuries-old English Cathedral tradition which continues to flourish today.

Some former choristers have gone on to international singing careers, including countertenors Daniel Taylor and
Matthew White, and bass Gerald Finley.

The Boys’ Choir is made up of approximately 20 boys aged between 8 and 14: rehearsing and performing regularly
throughout the choir season from September to June.  The Boy's Choir sings as a part of the Choir of Men and Boys and as a separate choir in their own right.
