DB2 FOR MVS V5: THE SCALABLE SERVER KING
Hari will discuss the expanded function, power, scalability and usability of DB2 running on MVS/ESA and OS/390, in such roles as Client/Server and Network Computing OLTP Server. This includes: Application Package server; WWW Internet server; ASCII data server.
Stored procedures gain multiple answer set cursors, temporary tables, two phase commit with IMS and CICS, and multiple dynamically managed address spaces.
In the area of Parallel Data Warehouse, V5 breaks the historic limits, enabling: up to 1 TB in a single table; up to 254 partitions, of up to 4GB, in a single table; up to 320 engines, working in parallel on a single query or many.
